Getting ready!

Only two more days 'til Christmas! I've been extremely busy, but some of it has involved getting organized so that I can dedicate more time to my passion, writing.

I'm self-employed and have been earning my income from numerous projects including vintage stock image licensing, manufacturing my own holiday card line, being a "picker" (way before "American Pickers" was a show [a very very staged show]) and a "Top Rated" "PowerSeller" on ebay. I wrote my book while juggling quite a lot but now that it's published and so far selling, I'm able to cut back a little on some of my ebaying so that I have more time to write.

I have hundreds of antiquarian articles, books, booklets, ephemera and obsolete opinions that I've been wanting to share via this blog. I also plan to author more books! I'm really looking forward to it and hope you will subscribe to my blog or check back after the new year!

Happy holidays!

Taking It (Almost) All In

That's my my vintage aluminum tree with the color wheel (it's loud!) and holiday music in the background. It took me years to collect every one of those ornaments and the tree was an estate sale score a few years ago. I enjoy sitting, looking at the tree and listening to holiday music. I've learned to make sure I don't let the season pass by without taking it (visuals and spirit of the season) all in. Also in the past I often reached for sugar and junk instead of slowing down and resting when I needed it.

Are you making time to take in the season? How about time to relax and replenish?

Happy Vintage Holidays!

My house in 1959. Photo provided by the original owners.

I love this time of year and have been collecting vintage Christmas decorations for  over a decade. I hope you enjoy them!

Merry Christmas!
